Sophia Takla is a multimedia journalist, creative consultant & professional actor based in Eugene, Oregon. Having grown up on local stages, she went on to earn a BFA in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory. Her next venture was a Master’s Degree in Journalism from New York University. Her career in Broadcast Journalism is next on stage, and she looks forward to using that opportunity to give back to the Oregon communities that shaped her. A proud cancer advocate, Sophia has spent the last 17 years volunteering in the pediatric cancer space, culminating in her SERVE Initiative "Operation Joy: Supporting Children in Medical Need." Her service includes play therapy and mental health enrichment during treatment for serious illness. Additionally, her non-partisan legislative advocacy in partnership with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, aims to change cancer outcomes for all. Sophia is proud to serve as Miss Oregon Volunteer 2026 and welcomes all to our organization!
